MEDIA & MARKETING: What are your hopes & expectations for the upcoming season?
KIEREN SARGENT:
My expectations for 2022 is to help Andy bring that edge to South Wagga Warriors with my knowledge of football via some new tactics to the playing group, so that it creates a fun Club and a winning team.  My hopes for 2022 is that Andy believes that I can help him but also that he wants to kill me on the sidelines. I hope to take the boys to the finals, hoping we can get to the big show in September.

M&M: What does your role involve?
SARGE: My role is to assist Andy as the coach/manager as the Chief Clipboard holder & Tactics Man of the 1st grade.  Hope to get Andy on the park to play some minutes, so I can coach it from there for him. Overseeing how and who we can bring into the first grade squad when required. Providing a different point of view will be beneficial to Andy but importantly to the collective.

M&M: What from last season do you want to see again in 2022? What from 2021 don’t you want to see?
SARGE:
From watching as many games as I could last year, I would hope we can keep up the impressive team environment we have built over the last few years. That we keep turning up for each other. What I don’t want to see from 2021 is for us to put our heads down and think we are done, we have to get better at switching back on and getting the job done.

M&M: Which match are you most looking forward to?
SARGE:
Looking forward to the whole season, to be honest. Sitting out of contention the last few years in the top grade, it will be good to see some top football but if I had to pick a game – Hanwood FC they are the benchmark team.

Hanwood FC – the benchmark, look at that strip!

M&M: Are you playing this year and if so, what are your hopes? Is Andy or Burnsy a chance of playing?
SARGE:
No not playing this year due to a major injury, my playing days are sadly long gone. The chances of Andy playing this year is high if he listens to my hard training plan, he might just make it. As for the boss, I think the gloves are hung up for good and locked in the cupboard and no key to be found.
